NJ based production company X-TREME SCENES Productions has entered the leased access arena with something different. The show is entitled “X-treme Outdoor Adventures”. The 30-minute show can be seen in almost 380,000 homes in New Jersey on Comcast cable at present. “XOA” airs the first Saturday evening of each month at 4:00PM on Leased Access channel 74 in the Union System and channel XX in the Central system. X.O.A. also airs at 4:30 PM on Channel 73 in the Plainfield system. (See below for NJ coverage map) NEWS: X.O.A. now being re-broadcast on Resort Sports Network, Channel 12 in Mount Snow, VT and in NY on Harlem Cable! That is an additional +15,000 homes! Future plans are to eventually be picked up on a standard network channel.
The show is about exactly what you would expect, Extreme Outdoor Adventures. We have taped hours of skiing, snowboarding, biking, climbing, and racing footage. We are gathering many hours more footage this season and expanding our topics and locations. Each location we shoot is highlighted as an outdoor sports destination. Local color and points of interest pertaining to outdoor sports and adventures are discussed.
We currently have hours of mountain biking, hang gliding, skydiving, search and rescue training, rock climbing, and mountaineering. We cover topics in a way that makes them interesting yet accessible. This show promotes such adventures while giving viewers an information resource to get them involved if they desire. To that end, the website is growing in order to work hand-in-hand with the show to provide locale information, directions, advice, and other pertinent information for those viewers who wish to follow the lead of our adventurers. The address is http://www.x-tremescenes.com/
Rather than just showing some athletes doing extreme sports, we supplement that footage with athlete interviews, technical information, and advice. For instance, the mountain bike episodes follow an outline based on 8 major topics all chosen to give riders a vast wealth of expert information, 1-Ergonomics 2-Technique 3-Cadence 4-Positive Focus 5-Training 6-Fuel 7-Maintenance 8-Equipment. Each of these topics are be broken down into major concepts and covered in different segments by an expert in the field. For example, a sports nutritionist will discuss fuel intake or an authorized TrekÒ mechanic might demonstrate how to adjust a derailluer. Filming is shot on location at various bike shops, events, factories, races, vendors, area trails, and in studio as necessary. Using in-depth analysis of these topics, we will interest and captivate a niche market community.
Each 30-minute show covers one or several topics as the time permits; however, several shows will touch on new equipment evaluation in a segment entitled “Toys”. This is where we will both hi-light a sponsor’s gear or test new gear coming on the market. Then we will give the viewers our opinion.
Further, each 30-minute show promotes the talent of unsigned and cutting-edge musical acts. Music is an inspirational part of many people’s lives. We recognize that and try to find talented musicians to include their music in our show. We accept submissions from all musical genera.
We hope that this show excites, entertains, and inspires awe in people.
Sincerely,
Larry Feeley
